Halloween 2009

Halloween was so much fun this year!! After lunch we started the festivities by watching Halloween movies such as The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (the cartoon of course) and The Nightmare Before Christmas, and making some ghoulish treats. We started by making some ghostly delights which are basically marshmallows dipped in chocolate and rolled in sprinkles. As you may be able to tell Emily really liked the marshmallow part! Her and Aunt Carly tried to figure out how to open those sprinkles!

Emily kept stealing sprinkles and eating them by themselves...

She would take a bite of marshmallow then a handful of sprinkles.

We then made up a batch of sugar cookies...you can't have enough sugar on Halloween!!
Aunt Carly was getting too close to her batter...don't you love the face?!

She had to help out by stirring the batter for me.

Once it was all mixed up we had to roll it out to make our cookies...

Then we used our new cookie cutters, provided by the wonderful Aunt Carly, to cut out shapes like pumpkins, bats, cats and ghosts!

We could hardly wait for them to cook!

While we waited Emily decided to go bounce on Dad for a bit.

Time to get the cookies out of the oven!!
Yeah, more sprinkles!!

You don't think she wants to sample some of her work do you?!

Uncle Nick came by and Emily was ready to go trick-or-treating...

Let's GO!
Nona and Grandad stopped by to see how cute Emily was in her costume.
And then we were of going door to door. She actually did a lot better then I thought she would. She held her bucket up and everything! She just wouldn't say anything! LOL
She had to periodically stop and check out her loot!
Candy thief!!! Caught in the act!
Emily, Hank, Malya, and Todd posing for a picture...it was getting late and dark!

We had so much fun that we can't wait till next year!!
